This Wednesday will be a big day for Iberia<\/strong>: it inaugurates flights to Washington and Dallas, recovers the San Francisco route and, in addition, launches new uniforms and a new in-flight experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate, the company has issued a collection of 20 different NFTs, which it has offered at a symbolic price to its Business Class customers. The NFTs (Non Fungible Tokens) are a unique asset, a collector’s item and, in this case, a souvenir of these customers’ experience that is linked to the seat they will occupy on the flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Retro boarding pass<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, these NFTs for Iberia’s inaugural flight to Washington evoke the first retro-style boarding passes that, on the one hand, make reference to the four most emblematic monuments of the US capital – the White House, the Capitol, the Obelisk and the Lincoln Memorial – and, on the other, contain the flight number, the Iberia logo and each customer’s seat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, Iberia joins the emerging world of NFTs, and takes another step forward on its path of using innovation to generate engagement with its customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More than 50,000 seats between Madrid and Washington, D.C.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Spanish airline will offer four direct flights a week between Washington and Madrid until October 29, every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aircraft operating this route is the Airbus A330-200, with capacity for 288 passengers, 19 in Business and 269 in Economy, which will mean an offer of more than 50,000 seats between the two capitals in these five months of operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
