The heavy fog affecting Buenos Aires and its surroundings caused dozens of flight cancellations, delays and diversions to and from the Argentine capital on Tuesday, according to airport sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the latest data from Aeropuertos Argentina 2000, Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, located in the city of Buenos Aires, was the most affected by the adverse weather conditions, since at least a dozen flights were cancelled and another thirty were delayed while passing through this airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was decided to move the morning operation to 9:10. Until then, four or five flights left out of a total of 25 or 30,” Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas sources told EFE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Ezeiza International Airport, located on the outskirts of the capital, did not see its activity so restricted, reporting two arrivals and five cancelled departures, as well as two arrivals and eight delayed departures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, two flights from Panama and Bogota bound for Ezeiza were diverted to other airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The National Meteorological Service issued a purple fog warning that affects the cities of Buenos Aires and La Plata, as well as a large part of the north and center of the province of Buenos Aires, the center and south of the province of Santa Fe and the entire province of Entre R\u00edos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some localities, such as Rosario, Paran\u00e1 and Moreno, reached visibility levels equal to or less than 100 meters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
