Wingo<\/strong> launches two new international routes from Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda C\u00f3rdova Airport serving Medell\u00edn. These are the flights between Medellin and Havana and Medellin-Aruba. Both routes will start sales in the next few days with promotional launch rates and will have their inaugural flights on October 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the launch of these two routes, Wingo reaches 23 international routes, thus consolidating itself as the Colombian low cost airline with the largest number of routes operated abroad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These two international routes are added to the international network offered by Wingo from Medellin, which includes flights to Panama City, Cancun, Punta Cana and Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. In this way, the airline will offer six international routes that allow Medell\u00edn residents to enjoy these Caribbean destinations directly and without the need to make a stopover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Medell\u00edn \u2013 Havana, connected for the first time<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wingo will operate the first regular route between Medellin and Havana in history. This route will have 2 weekly flights, on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will have its inaugural flight on October 1, 2022. In total, the airline will make about 3,000 seats available to the market per month between the Medellin \u2013 Havana routes. \u2013 Medellin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will start selling this route in the next few days with promotional launch rates of USD 125 each way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Similarly, the Medellin-Aruba route will have 2 flights a week that will be operated on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The flights will begin next Saturday, October 1, when Wingo makes available about 3,000 seats per month between both routes: Medell\u00edn \u2013 Aruba \u2013 Medell\u00edn.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline will start selling this route soon with promotional launch fares starting at USD 94 each way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Added to the launch of these two routes to the Caribbean is the increase in capacity on the Medell\u00edn \u2013 Panama route, which from October 2022 will go from seven weekly frequencies to ten flights per week. This increase in the airline’s operation is due to the allocation of a new Boeing 737-800 Next Generation aircraft, with capacity for 186 passengers, which will have this airport serving Medell\u00edn as its base of operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, it is important to add that said increase in the operation allows the airline to add its hiring of pilots, cabin crew and maintenance technicians in this operations base, with which it contributes to the consolidation of eastern Antioquia as a talent center. specialized in aviation and as a benchmark for Colombia and Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
