The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) began this Monday with the opening and coordination meeting for the on-site audit phase of the Tocumen International Airport Certification Test Process, in which, in addition to the aerodrome auditors of the ICAO, experts from the Federal Aviation Agency of the United States (FAA), the team of Aerodrome inspectors of the Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) of Panama and the Certification, Operations, maintenance, project and SMS teams of the International Airport of Tocumen.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis Process aims not only to continue the complex process of Certification of the air terminal by ICAO, but also to prepare personnel from the Civil Aviation Authority of Panama as International Auditors in airport matters, which will allow Panamanian technical personnel continue with the certification processes of other airports at the national level, and even participate in airport certifications at the regional level\u201d, said affoul Arab, manager of the Tocumen airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the week a busy agenda has been developed that includes work meetings, review and analysis of technical documentation, discussion workshops and physical inspections of the platforms, taxiways and runways of the Airport, the tracks and perimeter fence, the station of the Fire Rescue and Extinction Service, the Crisis Attention Room, the Fauna Control team facilities, the Operations Management Center and the new Tocumen Airport Operation Control Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This on-site visit phase culminates this Friday, July 15, with a meeting with the main authorities of the AAC and Tocumen in which the Auditors and International Experts will present the safety issues that were reviewed and the results of such inspection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After this visit, the technical information review process, the presentation of action plans in the items that require it, and the ICAO Certification of the Tocumen International Airport must continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
