Long lines at baggage check-in and security checkpoints is the ordeal that many travelers experience daily in the world’s air terminals. In fact, passengers often miss their flights and connections due to delays in airport processes and they get goosebumps when it comes to carrying bags, liquids and electronic devices in their bags, since each one must be scanned by separate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The economic recovery has given way to the aeronautical sector taking off again, but this brings with it multiple challenges in terms of security. In order to facilitate this process, Thales, a high-tech and digital innovations company, has developed a new scanner called Helixview, which could revolutionize the airport experience for both passengers and airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This innovation has been created with the influence of artificial intelligence (AI) and cybersecurity. It consists of a fixed, compact and light scanner that combines electronic scanning based on X-ray nanotechnology and 3D image reconstruction. With this solution for checkpoints, passengers will no longer have to deal with the arduous task of removing objects from their suitcases, since the technology will make it possible to detect all kinds of prohibited items: explosives, knives or even weapons disassembled and placed in parts separated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The certification of this technology is scheduled for the end of 2023 and it is expected that it will reduce control times, certifying, in turn, the safety of all travelers and air terminal operators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
