{"id":129448,"date":"2022-07-23T18:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-07-23T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=129448"},"modified":"2022-07-23T21:17:41","modified_gmt":"2022-07-23T21:17:41","slug":"e195-e2-makes-debut-touchdown-at-london-city-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2022\/07\/e195-e2-makes-debut-touchdown-at-london-city-airport.html","title":{"rendered":"E195-E2 makes debut touchdown at London City Airport"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>After departing from the Farnborough Air Show, the <strong>Embraer E195-E2 <\/strong>made its first landing at the iconic London City Airport (LCY), demonstrating the aircraft&#8217;s steep approach capability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visit, in anticipation of the aircraft&#8217;s certification for the steep approach to London City later this year, included ground testing and other preparations for the aircraft&#8217;s first scheduled flight to LCY, expected next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/07\/porter-airlines-orders-a-further-20-embraer-e195-e2s.html\">Porter Airlines orders a further 20 Embraer E195-E2s.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The visit demonstrates the importance that Embraer attaches to being able to offer LCY capacity to airlines with the E195-E2. It should be noted that the E190-E2 started operating in London City in September 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft, the largest of the E2 family, with a capacity of 146 passengers, flew at LCY with a blend of 39% sustainable aviation fuel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe arrival of the E195-E2 signals that we are about to welcome more next-generation aircraft that deliver world-class environmental performance, carry more passengers and have the potential to connect this airport to more global markets,\u201d said Alison. FitzGerald, Director of Operations at London City Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/06\/complete-100-saf-flight-testing-of-e195-e2-aircraft.html\">Embraer and Pratt &amp; Whitney Complete 100% SAF Flight Testing of E195-E2 Aircraft.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhile the immediate focus is on certification, we are hopeful that we will see the first E195-E2 in operation next year with KLM, which will be a real cause for celebration,\u201d added FitzGerald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LCY&#8217;s runway length measures just 1,508 meters and descent angles are up to 5.5 degrees. Currently, 85% of all flights arriving or departing from the airport are E-Jets or E190-E2s operated by airlines such as British Airways, Cityflyer, KLM Cityhopper and Helvetic
