Following the allocation of 18 new daily slots at Lisbon airport by the European Commission, EasyJet<\/strong> announced this Wednesday that it will incorporate three additional Airbus A321neo, the company’s largest aircraft, at its Lisbon base, which It will allow the company to launch 21 new routes and increase frequencies to eight countries, including a new twice-weekly winter service from Birmingham to Lisbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this investment, EasyJet will become the number two airline at Lisbon airport, with a network of 32 routes, 30 international and two national.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are very pleased to introduce part of the new easyJet network at Lisbon Airport which will start operations later in 2022 and which will make easyJet the second largest airline operating at Lisbon Airport. We are particularly happy to bring the A321 neo to Lisbon, which will help make our operations more sustainable,\u201d said Jos\u00e9 Lopes, easyJet Country Manager for Portugal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Overall, EasyJet will offer 1.75 million seats for sale this winter season to and from Lisbon, an increase of 61% compared to last year, and will have a total of 19 aircraft based in Portugal, a network of more than 80 routes to and from the country and expects to transport 10.3 million passengers a year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
