London Heathrow airport <\/strong>announced on Monday that it will extend its daily passenger limit until October 29, due to persistent problems in managing the increase in travel demand after the coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since July, the largest airport in the United Kingdom has limited the number of passengers who can take off from its facilities to 100,000 each day, a measure that, according to those responsible, has made it possible to improve the punctuality of flights and reduce last-minute cancellations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur main concern is to ensure that we provide our passengers with a reliable service when they travel. That’s why in July we introduced temporary capacity limits which have already improved travel during the summer break,” said Heathrow Chief Commercial Officer Ross Baker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We want to remove the cap as soon as possible, but we can only do so when we are confident that everyone who operates the airport has the resources to provide the service our passengers deserve,” added Baker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
