This aircraft is expected to transport passengers twice as fast as today&#8217;s fastest commercial aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the terms of the agreement, Boom must meet industry standard safety, performance and operational requirements, as well as other customary American terms prior to delivery of any Overture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/08\/american-investment-in-hydrogen-electric-engine-developer-zeroavia.html\">American announces investment in Hydrogen-Electric engine developer ZeroAvia.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Looking ahead, supersonic travel will be an important part of our airline,&#8221; said Derek Kerr, American&#8217;s Chief Financial Officer. &#8220;We&#8217;re excited about how Boom will shape the future of travel, both for our company and our customers.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Overture will carry between 65 and 80 passengers at Mach 1.7 over water, with a range of 4,250 nautical miles. Optimized for speed, safety and sustainability, Overture is also being designed to fly more than 600 routes around the world in just half the time. Flying from Miami to London in just under five hours and from Los Angeles to Honolulu in three hours are just a few of the many possibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July, Boom revealed the final production design of the Overture, which is scheduled to launch in 2025 and carry its first passengers in 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"related-topics\">Related
