The Australian airline Jetstar Airways<\/strong> left some 4,000 passengers stranded in Bali (Indonesia), after canceling eight return flights to Sydney and Melbourne since September 1, as well as delays in several of their trips, due to various problems, among they technical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Most of the affected passengers have already been relocated and our teams are working hard to find an alternative option for the approximately 200 remaining passengers,” Jetstar Chief Pilot Jeremy Schmidt said in a statement to the public network on Tuesday Australian ABC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jetstar, the low-cost airline of the Qantas air group, has attributed the cancellations to various technical problems since several of its eleven Boeing 787 Dreamliners have experienced setbacks caused by collisions with birds, lightning strikes, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Likewise, Jetstar has suffered delays in receiving spare parts from the United States to carry out maintenance work on some of its aircraft due to problems in global supply chains, according to the Sydney Morning Herald newspaper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, the Australian airline, which has also canceled other flights connecting Australia with Thailand and Japan, has been forced to ground half of its fleet of long-haul aircraft, the Australian newspaper added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The situation has caused thousands of Jetstar passengers to wait more than a week to return to Australia, or have been prevented from leaving the airport due to covid-19 restrictions, while other travelers have had to pay expensive tickets with other airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The problems of Qantas and Jetstar are expected to worsen with the strike over salary claims by the baggage handlers of the Dnata company, which provides services to Qantas and other international airlines, scheduled for September 12, reported EFE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
