These awards were established in 1993 to recognize, reward and celebrate excellence in all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Today, this brand is recognized worldwide as the ultimate seal of excellence in the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/08\/bogota-airport-enables-landing-system.html\">Bogot\u00e1 Airport enables landing system for low visibility operations.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, El Dorado received for the first time this important award that recognizes the best tourism referents by region, and this year it is once again the winner of this title. In the words of Andr\u00e9s Ortega, general manager of Opain, &#8220;We are the leading airport in the region, as a result of a joint effort of all employees and the airport community, this is another example of the commitment we assume from El Dorado to create relevant connections through innovation, technology, diversity, and to offer exceptional service to the more than 35 million passengers who travel daily through our terminal&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This recognition demonstrates the potential of airports within the tourism sector as transformers and economic drivers. In our region, the exponential increase in demand is expected to be more than 70% by 2050.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners were announced at the WTA Caribbean and Americas 2022 Gala Ceremony, which took place at Sandals Montego Bay, Jamaica, with the attendance of key decision makers, figures and influencers in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"
