{"id":131264,"date":"2022-09-15T20:30:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-15T20:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=131264"},"modified":"2022-09-15T22:22:52","modified_gmt":"2022-09-15T22:22:52","slug":"arajet-makes-its-first-commercial-flight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2022\/09\/arajet-makes-its-first-commercial-flight.html","title":{"rendered":"New Dominican airline Arajet makes its first commercial flight"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The new Dominican low-cost airline <strong>Arajet <\/strong>began operations in Colombia on Thursday with direct flights connecting Santo Domingo with the cities of Barranquilla and Cali, to which other routes will be added soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first commercial flight in the company&#8217;s history, which departed from Las Americas International Airport in the Dominican capital, landed this morning at Ernesto Cortissoz Airport in Barranquilla, and in the afternoon another flight will arrive at Alfonso Bonilla Arag\u00f3n Airport in Cali, the company informed in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/08\/arajet-starts-selling-tickets-to-ecuador.html\">Arajet starts selling tickets to connect Quito and Guayaquil with Santo Domingo.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, on September 18, Arajet will add the historic and emblematic city of Cartagena to its route network, and later on, Bogot\u00e1 and Medell\u00edn. With these operations, the airline expects to serve directly from Santo Domingo to five strategic cities in the country in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arajet&#8217;s president, V\u00edctor Pacheco M\u00e9ndez, said in the press release that the airline&#8217;s arrival in Colombia seeks to &#8220;strengthen commercial, tourist and cultural ties, as well as to promote economic development opportunities between the two countries&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Arajet, which has a fleet of five Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, configured for 185 passengers, expects to reach 20 destinations in 12 countries in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the airline, during the next few days it will add new destinations in Peru, Mexico, Salvador, Aruba, St. Maarten and Guatemala, as well as
