{"id":131409,"date":"2022-09-20T20:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-09-20T20:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=131409"},"modified":"2022-09-21T00:55:47","modified_gmt":"2022-09-21T00:55:47","slug":"azul-to-retire-12-embraer-e195-e1-jets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2022\/09\/azul-to-retire-12-embraer-e195-e1-jets.html","title":{"rendered":"Azul to retire 12 Embraer E195-E1 jets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Brazilian airline <strong>Azul <\/strong>announced Tuesday that it will phase out, by the end of 2023, 12 Embraer E195-E1 jets from its passenger operating fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The E195-E1 fleet will be reduced by 22 aircraft compared to 2019, representing a 40% reduction and a significant acceleration of the fleet renewal plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/09\/azul-takes-delivery-of-its-first-airbus-a350-900.html\">Brazil\u2019s Azul takes delivery of its first Airbus A350-900.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exit of these 12 aircraft is related to the recent negotiation of the sale of 5 aircraft to Azorra Aviation, reducing debt, the end of the lease of 4 aircraft, and the conversion of 3 aircraft to freighters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This announcement demonstrates our ability to accelerate the gradual replacement of Embraer&#8217;s E195-E1 aircraft. The departure of these aircraft gives us the opportunity to move forward in receiving the new generation E195-E2s, further expanding our margins, given that the cost per seat of the E2s is 26% lower
