certifies ATR\u2019s aircraft powered by new PW127XT-M engine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has type certified the <strong>ATR 72 and 42<\/strong> aircraft powered by the new <strong>Pratt &amp; Whitney PW127XT-M<\/strong> engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boasting the latest materials and technologies available on the market, the new engine series enables next level efficiency and extended time (XT) on wing for its aircraft, bringing benefits of 20% reduction in maintenance costs and 3% improvement in fuel consumption compared to the PW127-M.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cReceiving EASA type certification is an important step towards entry into service of this new standard engine on our ATR aircraft, says ATR\u2019s Stephane Viala, Senior Vice President Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/10\/pratt-whitney-gtf-advantage-flight-testing-starts-on-airbus-a320neo.html\">Pratt &amp; Whitney GTF Advantage Flight Testing Starts on Airbus A320neo.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe certification of ATR aircraft powered by our PW127XT-M engine is good news for the Regional Aviation segment as it delivers 40% more time on wing, 20% less maintenance costs and a 3% improvement in fuel consumption compared to the PW127-M,\u201d said Anthony Rossi, vice president, Sales and Marketing, Pratt &amp; Whitney Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The EASA certification follows that of Engine certification by Transport Canada Civil aviation and Engine EASA certification which were achieved respectively in August and early September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Revealed at the Dubai Airshow in 2021, the purpose-built new PW127XT-M engine will enter into service with launch customer Air Corsica before
