The Spanish airline Volotea <\/strong>launches two new routes linking Asturias with Milan and Lisbon. The company, after winning the tender for both contracts promoted by Asturias Airport, will once again offer international routes from the Principality after the pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Asturias-Milan route, which will offer about 34,300 seats a year, will start operating on March 30 with a frequency of three flights a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. From the airport of Bergamo Milan, Volotea already connects the Italian city with Lampedusa, Olbia and Pantelleria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first time in the company’s history, Volotea will fly to Lisbon. The new route, which connects the Asturian airport with the Portuguese capital, will start operating on March 31, 2023. The company will offer more than 34,000 seats and more than 200 flights during the one-year period with a frequency of 3 flights per week, on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our commitment to the Principality has been demonstrated throughout all these 10 years of presence at Asturias airport. We started with an initial offer of 21,700 seats in 2012 that we have been increasing to transfer 1.8 million passengers over a decade. We are excited to reconnect this base with international destinations, in this case, Milan and Lisbon,” said Gabriel Schmilovich, Volotea’s Chief Strategy Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
