{"id":132725,"date":"2022-10-24T19:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-10-24T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=132725"},"modified":"2022-10-24T21:53:27","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T21:53:27","slug":"spirit-airlines-and-cae-launch-new-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2022\/10\/spirit-airlines-and-cae-launch-new-program.html","title":{"rendered":"Spirit Airlines and CAE Launch New Program for Aspiring Commercial Pilots"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Spirit Airlines and CAE <\/strong>announced Monday the launch of the Spirit Wings Pilot Pathway program, which aims to expand the airline&#8217;s pipeline of highly qualified professional pilots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The program is designed to mentor Spirit&#8217;s future first officers on their path to becoming part of the airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates may apply for the program upon successful completion of their flight training at CAE Phoenix Aviation Academy and achieving approximately 500 hours of total flight time. If successful in Spirit&#8217;s interview process, they will receive a Conditional Offer of Employment (COE), a Spirit Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) and will be mentored as they work toward completing the minimum hours required for an ATP certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/10\/spirit-airlines-stockholder-approve-jetblue-merger-agreement.html\">Spirit Airlines stockholder approve JetBlue merger agreement.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;CAE is a great partner for us because of their commitment to safety and operational excellence, and also their dedication to finding solutions for student training needs,&#8221; said Ryan Rodosta, Senior Director of Flight Operations and System Chief Pilot for Spirit Airlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;This new program will ensure Spirit Airlines has a pipeline of qualified pilots as they expand their fleet and route network,&#8221; said Nick Leontidis, CAE&#8217;s Group President, Civil Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spirit is expanding rapidly and plans to take delivery of 24 new aircraft in 2022, bringing its fleet to a total of 197 aircraft, with another 33 aircraft scheduled for
