Emirates<\/strong> airline made a record profit of Dh4.2 billion ($1.2 billion) in the first half of its 2022\/2023 fiscal year, thanks to strong demand and the relaxation and removal of pandemic restrictions around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The previous year, the airline posted a loss of 5.8 billion dirhams. Revenue for the six months to Sept. 30 soared to 56.3 billion dirhams ($15.3 billion), Emirates Group said in a statement Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Emirates resumes flights to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires.<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Group said its workforce increased by 10% to 93,893 employees as both the airline and its airport services subsidiary, dnata, “embarked on targeted recruitment campaigns to support their future needs.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The Group’s record performance in the first six months of 2022-23 is the result of forward planning, an agile business response and the efforts of our talented and committed workforce,” said His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Airline and the Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
