{"id":134500,"date":"2022-12-08T19:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-12-08T19:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=134500"},"modified":"2022-12-08T22:14:45","modified_gmt":"2022-12-08T22:14:45","slug":"emirates-flight-training-graduated-53-new-pilots","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2022\/12\/emirates-flight-training-graduated-53-new-pilots.html","title":{"rendered":"Emirates Flight Training graduated 53 new pilots"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>As the aviation world faces a pilot shortage, the third <strong>Emirates Flight Training Academy (EFTA) <\/strong>graduation ceremony held on Thursday welcomed 53 new pilots to the industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With this latest ceremony, EFTA celebrated reaching three major milestones:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Graduation of international Cadets for the first time since the academy opened its doors to non-Emirati students at the end of 2019.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The largest cohort: more than 50 cadets and twice as many as in previous events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than 100 cadets trained since their first graduation in 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2022\/11\/emirates-posts-record-profit-for-first-half.html\">Emirates posts record profit for first half of its fiscal year.<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the ceremony, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group congratulated and awarded certificates to the cadet graduates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYears ago, we realised there would be a huge demand for trained pilots to support commercial aviation\u2019s needs, and as a global airline and an industry leader, we felt compelled to act. Today\u2019s graduation ceremony marks the achievement of our long-term vision for establishing the state-of-the-art Emirates Flight Training Academy to welcome and nurture young talent not just locally, but globally\u201d, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Emirates\u2019 executive management team in attendance included: Sir Tim Clark, President Emirates Airline, Adel Al Redha, Chief Operating Officer; Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer and Ali Al Soori, Executive Vice President Chairman&#8217;s Office &amp; Facilities\/Projects Management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Oliver Wyman\u2019s latest research, the aviation industry will experience a global gap of 34,000 pilots by 2025, which could increase to 50,000 given the impact of furloughs and retirements. Driven by a projected sharp increase in air travel demand, the Middle East region could face a shortage of 3,000 pilots by 2023 and 18,000 by 2032. Boeing estimates that by 2041 the gap will widen to 602,000 pilots globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"related-topics\">Related Topics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n\t\t\t<div
