Delta Air Lines <\/strong>announced Monday that it will launch seasonal service between New York-JFK and Gale\u00e3o Airport in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, beginning Dec. 16. The new route – the third Delta and LATAM have announced since the Joint Venture was approved in September 2022 – will operate daily on Boeing 767-300 aircraft, which feature Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Main Cabin service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. carrier will also launch new seasonal service between New York-JFK and Buenos Aires beginning October 28. The route will operate daily on Boeing 767-400 aircraft. Delta currently offers daily year-round flights between Atlanta and Buenos Aires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Since the implementation of our Joint Venture, we have been working closely with LATAM to introduce new routes that are expanding opportunities for customers traveling between the United States and South America,” said Alex Antilla, Delta’s Vice President for Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the largest airline in South America, we are excited to work with them to offer our customers more flight options and a world-class in-flight experience,” said Martin St. George, Chief Commercial Officer, LATAM Airlines Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JOINT VENTURE PARTNERSHIP WITH THE MOST FLIGHTS BETWEEN THE U.S. AND BRAZIL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta and LATAM offer the most ways to travel between the U.S. and Brazil. Delta offers daily service between JFK and S\u00e3o Paulo, twice daily service between its Atlanta hub and S\u00e3o Paulo, and seasonal service between Atlanta and Rio de Janeiro. LATAM offers service between S\u00e3o Paulo and five U.S. gateways, including New York-JFK, Boston, Orlando, Miami and, starting this summer: new Los Angeles service that will operate three-times weekly beginning in the third quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

THE MOST SERVICE BETWEEN NYC AND SOUTH AMERICA<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delta and LATAM together are New York City\u2019s #1 Joint Venture partnership, offering the most service between the Big Apple and South America with flights between JFK and S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil; Lima, Peru; Santiago, Chile; Bogota, Colombia and soon Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Joint Venture between LATAM and Delta is improving the travel experience for passengers and cargo customers. The partnership applies to select markets between North and South America, delivering customer benefits and faster connections to more than 300 destinations between the U.S.\/Canada and South America (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
