{"id":136606,"date":"2023-02-13T18:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-13T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=136606"},"modified":"2023-02-14T00:05:23","modified_gmt":"2023-02-14T00:05:23","slug":"colombia-el-dorado-has-become-south-americas-busiest-airport","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/colombia-el-dorado-has-become-south-americas-busiest-airport.html","title":{"rendered":"Colombia: El Dorado has become South America&#8217;s busiest airport"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Bogota&#8217;s <strong>El Dorado Airport<\/strong> became the first airport in South America and the second airport in Latin America with the highest passenger traffic, handling more than 35.5 million people in 2022, surpassing the S\u00e3o Paulo-Guarulhos International Airport in Brazil by almost one million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to the coordinated work between OPAIN, the airlines, Civil Aeronautics, the National Infrastructure Agency, Immigration and other authorities and companies in the airport community, the Bogota airport terminal is one of the preferred airports for travelers from all over the continent as a connection or departure point for new destinations, thus creating new opportunities for connectivity and competitiveness for Colombia in the region&#8217;s air sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/01\/colombia-mobilized-more-than-48-million-passengers-by-air-in-2022.html\">Colombia mobilized more than 48 million passengers by air in 2022<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We receive this news with pride and satisfaction because it is the result of the hard work we have been doing together with the entire airport community to make El Dorado the gateway to Latin America and promote domestic and international tourism. In addition, the arrival of 4 new airlines was added: Plus Ultra, Arajet, Turpial Airlines and Ultra Air, thus connecting Colombians and foreigners with 46 international and 42 domestic
