{"id":136711,"date":"2023-02-15T18:30:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-15T18:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=136711"},"modified":"2023-02-15T23:45:00","modified_gmt":"2023-02-15T23:45:00","slug":"delays-and-cancellations-due-to-computer-system-failure-at-lufthansa-in-frankfurt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2023\/02\/delays-and-cancellations-due-to-computer-system-failure-at-lufthansa-in-frankfurt.html","title":{"rendered":"Delays and cancellations due to computer system failure at Lufthansa in Frankfurt"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A failure in <strong>Lufthansa<\/strong> computer systems triggered flight cancellations and delays at Frankfurt airport on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to airport operator Fraport, more than 200 flights were canceled, and indicated that landings have resumed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lufthansa reported that the breakdown occurred on Tuesday when an excavator, which was carrying out repair work on a section of the Frankfurt railway lines, cut several fiber optic cables of Deutsche Telekom&#8217;s company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/02\/lufthansa-to-be-first-airline-group-to-offer-fares-for-more-sustainable-travel.html\">Lufthansa to be first airline group to offer fares for more sustainable travel<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The computer systems of all airlines of the Lufthansa group have been down since this morning, preventing passengers from boarding, and in some areas of the city Deutsche Telekom customers have been left without internet and telephone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two Deutsche Telekom business data cables are still down and the flight protection authorities have diverted flights from Frankfurt to other airports such as Nuremberg, Cologne or D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The German telecommunications company and Lufthansa are working to solve the problem quickly. But with international flights affected and unable to land at Frankfurt airport, transit travelers are also seeing their connections affected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the cancellation of all domestic flights in Germany, Lufthansa has asked passengers to travel by train.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result of the failure of Lufthansa&#8217;s systems, problems have also been reported at Munich airport, but
