Boeing<\/strong> has again halted deliveries of its 787 aircraft, which had already been halted in 2021 and 2022 due to a manufacturing defect, in order to examine a fuselage part, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Deliveries will not resume until the FAA is satisfied that the problem has been resolved,” the agency said in a message sent to AFP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing discovered that one of its suppliers had made an analysis error in the pressure section of the front of the aircraft, the company explained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The group made the decision to suspend deliveries during the time the analyses are being conducted again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FAA assures that it is working with the aircraft builder “to determine what actions might be necessary for recently delivered aircraft.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company assured that there is no “immediate danger” for the 787s in service and that the latest problem detected “should not increase” the modifications already planned for the aircraft produced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 787 Dreamliner has had several difficulties in recent years, including factory defects discovered in late summer 2020 and other problems that arose during a thorough examination of the aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Boeing had to first suspend deliveries of that model between November 2020 and March 2021, then between May 2021 and August 2022, as well as reduce the pace of production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But after resuming deliveries last summer, Boeing was able to deliver 31 aircraft in 2022, 22 of them in the fourth quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In January, however, the manufacturer delivered only three. At the release of its results at the end of January Boeing still planned to deliver between 70 and 80 aircraft through the end of the year, and this Thursday it stuck to that target.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
