Panama City’s Tocumen International Airport <\/strong>processed more than 4.2 million passengers during the first quarter of 2023. During the month of March, 1,468,648 travelers were mobilized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are showing robust competitiveness in relation to other airports in the region. If economic, health and social conditions are maintained we can project an operational performance superior to 2019,” said Raffoul Arab, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destinations and Markets<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of international connections, in March Tocumen maintained direct routes to 83 destinations, through 17 commercial airlines offering services to major cities in the Americas and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Panama\u2019s subway connects the capital with Tocumen Airport<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The March results indicate that of the total number of passengers using the Tocumen terminal, 81% were connecting passengers. In addition, 11,923 aircraft movements were handled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to data provided by the Statistics Department of Tocumen International Airport, the markets that contributed the most passengers to transit through Tocumen Airport were South America with 44%, followed by North America with 28%, the Caribbean with 11%, Central America with 11%, and the European markets with 6%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regional terminals and cargo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cargo terminal mobilized 48,610 metric tons of merchandise during the first quarter of the year 2023. During the month of March, 18,720 metric tons were mobilized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The regional terminals Panama Pacifico, Enrique Malek, Scarlett Martinez and Enrique A. Jimenez registered a traffic of 203,282 passengers during the first quarter of this year. During the month of March, 64,893 passengers and 2,231 aircraft operations were mobilized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the regional terminals, Panama Pacifico registered the highest movement with 30,565 passengers processed. The domestic terminal operating at Terminal 2 processed 16,370 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
