Boliviana de Aviaci\u00f3n (BoA) <\/strong>will begin operating a leased Airbus A330-200 to fly international routes to the United States and Europe. The first of three aircraft was unveiled Friday at an event in Santa Cruz de la Sierra attended by Bolivian President Luis Arce Catacora and other government authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The A330s selected by BoA can comfortably accommodate up to 278 travelers, and their modern cabin will enhance the passenger experience through direct aisle access in business class seats, and the widest economy class seats on the market. BoA passengers flying long-haul routes to and from Bolivia will now experience the latest cabin technologies, including an advanced In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to support the A330 Entry Into Service (EIS), Airbus provides BoA with training services for its flight and maintenance crew, and on-site consultation with Skywise Health Monitoring (SHM), an Airbus aircraft monitoring tool, which allows the airline’s engineers to perform real-time scans of aircraft warnings to anticipate unscheduled maintenance-related outages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BoA is also the most recent airline to select Airbus Flight Hour Services (FHS) for its fleet of A330 aircraft. The multi-year hourly maintenance contract covers component services, including on-site standby at Viru Viru International Airport and repair services. BoA joins a growing list of Latin American airlines in ensuring the best availability of key components, while avoiding all the burdens of obsolescence that come with the heavy investment of managing and owning a stock of spare parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the airline has selected a suite of solutions for its NAVBLUE, Airbus’ flight operations subsidiary. This includes a navigation database for its flight management system (FMS) and an electronic flight bag (EFB), which allows pilots to receive aircraft performance calculations, consult flight operations documentation and checklists. On the ground, NAVBLUE will provide documentation management services and tail-based performance optimization software that will enhance the aircraft performance monitoring (APM) process. Benefiting from NAVBLUE’s expertise, BoA will leverage state-of-the-art solutions to manage and optimize its operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BoA is the main operator in Bolivia and through its route offerings connects Bolivians within the country and around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
