WestJet Group <\/strong>and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), the union representing WestJet and Swoop pilots, announced that they have reached a tentative agreement on the second collective bargaining agreement between the organizations. Both parties now await the ratification vote to present it to the membership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“WestJet Group is pleased to have reached a tentative agreement that is industry-leading in Canada and recognizes the important contributions of our valued pilots by providing significant improvements in job security and scope, working conditions and wages,” said Alexis von Hoensbroech, WestJet Group Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are pleased that we were able to reach an agreement, but we recognize the impact it has had on our customers and sincerely appreciate their patience during this time. We are pleased to now refocus on providing friendly, reliable and affordable air service to Canadians for years to come,” von Hoensbroech added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WestJet Group said it is resuming operations as quickly and efficiently as possible, but stressed full resumption of operations will take time. It advised passengers to continue to check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
