Scoot<\/strong>, Singapore Airlines’ low-cost subsidiary, announced that it will add nine Embraer E190-E2 aircraft to its fleet on lease with Azorra to boost its growth in the region. The first delivery is scheduled for 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The agreement to add nine new E190-E2 aircraft to our fleet allows us to continue to operate a modern, fuel-efficient fleet, and support our network growth strategy by serving smaller routes to non-metro destinations outside Singapore,” commented Leslie Thng, Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We welcome Scoot as the first major E2 operator in the region. The team at our APAC headquarters in Singapore is proud to support the airline as it seeks to enhance connectivity and growth in the region by supporting the development of its Singapore hub,” said Arjan Meijer, CEO of Embraer Commercial Aviation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The E190-E2 is part of Embraer’s latest E-Jets E2 family of commercial aircraft, which entered service in 2018. Airlines such as KLM, Porter and Azul operate the E-Jets E2 family of aircraft, and new operators were recently announced, including Royal Jordanian, Salam Air and TUI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
