Brazil’s GOL Linhas A\u00e9reas <\/strong>has become the first national airline to receive authorization from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to use Digital Navigation on board its aircraft. The innovative initiative, in force since March, guarantees more efficiency and safety in operations, improving passengers’ time and significant gains for the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Digital Navigation results in paper savings, reducing printing costs, fuel savings, reduced emissions of polluting gases and faster operational procedures, reducing operational costs, one of GOL’s main objectives for 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since the start of the Paperless project in 2018, it is estimated that GOL has stopped using about 41.5 million sheets of paper, 48.9 million liters of aviation kerosene, R$13.9 million in financial resources and the non-emission of more than 4.8 million tons of CO\u00b2 into the atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The use of digital information reduces workload, provides information in a more orderly and interactive way, increases punctuality and improves flight safety, as pilots can focus on other relevant tasks. It also makes flying sustainable by reducing carbon emissions,” said Commander Danilo Andrade, GOL’s Chief Operating Officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously printed for each flight, the Digital Navigation averaged 25 pages and often required combustion vehicles to be delivered to the aircraft, but today it is available on tablets in the cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“GOL was born with the name Intelligent Airlines and Digital Navigation is an initiative fully aligned with the Company’s DNA. It brings sustainable results, efficient operations, better customer experience and digital acceleration,” said Andr\u00e9 Cruz, the Company’s Vice President of Operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
