After a three-year break and many months of reactivation, the largest passenger aircraft is once again ready for service. In a few minutes, the first A380 D-AIMK with flight number LH424 takes off for its maiden flight from <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MUC_Airport?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@MUC_Airport<\/a> to Boston.\ud83c\uddfa\ud83c\uddf8 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/BO3QI0ooMK\">pic.twitter.com\/BO3QI0ooMK<\/a><\/p>&mdash; Lufthansa News (@lufthansaNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lufthansaNews\/status\/1664264082650980355?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 1, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>On the same day, another of the airline&#8217;s A380s, registration D-AIML, took off from Frankfurt for Manila, Philippines, on an apparent training flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recall that at the beginning of the pandemic, Lufthansa management concluded that the aircraft would not be used again due to high operating costs. However, in June 2022 the airline announced that it would reactivate the A380s in response to a sharp increase in demand and a delay in the delivery of new aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the 14 A380s
