Australian airline Qantas<\/strong> resumed its seasonal direct flights between Perth and Rome on Sunday, marking the return of the popular route for the second consecutive year, just in time for the European summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The flights will operate three days a week until October 3, 2023, offering more than 22,000 seats over a four-month period. This route remains the only direct flight between Australia and mainland Europe offered by any airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline has also confirmed it will operate the service for a third year, with flights for 2024 going on sale in early July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas International CEO Cameron Wallace said the airline was delighted to fly Australians directly to Rome for another summer in Europe.3<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our Perth-Rome route was one of the most popular on our international network last year and bookings indicate it will be again,” Wallace commented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Qantas customers can connect from Rome to 16 destinations in Europe, including Geneva, Nice and Madrid, and 14 destinations in Italy. A “circle fare” also allows travelers to fly to Rome and return to Australia from London on the same ticket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
