State-owned China Southern Airlines was the country\u2019s first carrier to resume flying the 737 MAX in January.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/06\/boeing-to-invest-us100-million-in-infrastructure-and-pilot-training-in-india.html\">Boeing to invest US$100 million in infrastructure and pilot training in India<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since then, Chinese airlines have been gradually reintroducing the model back to operation. In April, Boeing estimated that half of the country\u2019s MAX fleet was in operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBy the end of June, about 90% of China\u2019s 737 MAX fleet had resumed commercial operations, with some of the aircraft placed on regional international routes connecting domestic cities to a number of destinations in Central Asia and Southeast Asia,\u201d Carbary said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boeing, however, is yet to resume deliveries to China, a key market where it has lost ground to arch rival Airbus SE in part due to geopolitical tensions between the United States and China, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/boeing-737max-china\/update-2-boeing-says-about-90-of-china-737-max-jets-have-resumed-commercial-operations-idUSL1N38K0JC\" target=\"_blank\"
