{"id":142240,"date":"2023-08-01T14:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-08-01T14:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=142240"},"modified":"2023-08-01T22:44:31","modified_gmt":"2023-08-01T22:44:31","slug":"miami-airport-served-more-than-26-million-passengers-in-first-half-of-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2023\/08\/miami-airport-served-more-than-26-million-passengers-in-first-half-of-2023.html","title":{"rendered":"Miami Airport served more than 26 million passengers in first half of 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>During the first half of the year, <strong>Miami International Airport (MIA) <\/strong>served nearly 26.2 million passengers, an increase of 2.6% over the record-breaking year of 2022, and on track to surpass 52 million travelers by 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through June, international passengers at MIA increased 12% to 11.4 million, while domestic travelers decreased 3.6% to 14.8 million, according to statistics recently released by the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through June, MIA remained the fastest-growing U.S. airport, according to Airports Council International-North America. In 2022, the airport served nearly 50.7 million passengers to smash its previous record of 45.9 million set in 2019. MIA&#8217;s growth trend is expected to continue through the remainder of 2023, thanks to a variety of service launches scheduled for the second half of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/07\/these-were-20-busiest-airports-in-the-world-in-2022.html\">These were 20 busiest airports in the world in 2022<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In July, American Airlines announced that it will operate the largest winter schedule in its history at MIA beginning in November. With more than 380 peak-day flights to 150 destinations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On September 18, low-cost carrier Norse Atlantic Airways will move all of its South Florida flights to Miami, beginning with four weekly flights to both London (Gatwick) and Oslo, two destinations that currently have no nonstop flights at MIA. Three months later, the airline will launch its Miami-Paris flights on December 12 and a weekly Miami-Berlin flight on December 14.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alaska Airlines will also launch daily service to
