During July of this year, Tocumen International Airport <\/strong>handled 1,566,486 passengers, 100,725 more than in the same month of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Raffoul Arab, General Manager of Tocumen International Airport, indicated that these results confirm the growth trend in air passenger transportation that positively impacts the results of our main air terminal. “In the second half of the year we expect an increase in tourist activity throughout the region, and therefore, an increase in passengers through Tocumen and Panama Pacifico, as well as through the Rio Hato airport, with flights from Canada,” said Arab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Destinations and Markets<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In terms of international connections, in the month of July Tocumen maintained direct routes to 87 destinations, through 15 commercial airlines offering services to major cities in the Americas and Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Miami Airport served more than 26 million passengers in first half of 2023<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

July’s results indicate that of the total number of passengers using the Tocumen terminal, 74% were connecting passengers. In addition, 12,153 aircraft movements were handled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Data provided by the Statistics Department of Tocumen International Airport reveal that the markets with the greatest regional movement in July were South America with 44%, followed by North America with 29%, the Caribbean with 12%, Central America with 11%, and European markets with a 4% share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regional terminals and cargo<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

As for the cargo terminal, 16,406 metric tons of merchandise were mobilized during the seventh month of the year 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Panama Pacifico, Enrique Malek, Scarlett Martinez and Enrique A. Jimenez regional terminals, managed by Tocumen, S.A., registered in July a traffic of 63,032 passengers and 1,826 aircraft operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the regional terminals, Panama Pacifico registered the highest movement with 41,351 passengers processed. The domestic terminal operating at Terminal 2 processed 16,272 passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
