As part of its expansion strategy in South America, SKY<\/strong> announced the launch of its new Lima-Montevideo-Florian\u00f3polis route, reaffirming its commitment to connect Peru with other countries in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SKY will start flying between Lima, Montevideo and Florian\u00f3polis on January 2, 2024. Initially it will have 3 weekly frequencies, with which it plans to transport more than 6,000 passengers per month between all the routes connecting these three cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are proud to launch our 7th and 8th international destinations from Lima, as part of our commitment to South American connectivity. We are betting on routes with high demand and great potential in the Peruvian market. Montevideo is a metropolis with great tourism and business potential, and Florianopolis is one of the most popular vacation paradises. From SKY, we believe that our low cost model will be key to motivate more Peruvians to travel to both cities and, in the same way, to welcome more Uruguayan and Brazilian tourists to our country,” says Jos\u00e9 Ra\u00fal Vargas, general manager of SKY in Peru.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The low cost airline started selling tickets this Thursday with introductory prices ranging from US$174 or S\/662 to travel from Lima to Montevideo per leg with taxes included; and from US$188 or S\/715 to travel per leg from Lima to Florianopolis (via the Uruguayan capital) with taxes included. The promotion will be available from August 31 through September 8, 2023 and will apply for travel from January 2 through June 30, 2024, for the Lima-Montevideo route and from January 2 through March 31, 2024 for flights to Florian\u00f3polis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regional Presence<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Within the framework of its international growth strategy, Vargas highlights that the Brazilian market is key for the low cost airline and that as from January it will add five destinations in that country, considering both those reached from Lima and Santiago. He also added “the upcoming flights between Lima and Florian\u00f3polis (via Montevideo) will help SKY to consolidate its position as the main foreign airline in Santa Catarina, the state where Florian\u00f3polis is located”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In parallel, this Thursday SKY will also add the Santiago Montevideo-Salvador de Bahia route, which shows the airline’s commitment to continue strengthening its presence in the region and become the preferred low cost carrier in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
