Southern Airlines retires Airbus A380 from its fleet"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>China Southern Airlines<\/strong> has officially retired the <strong>Airbus A380<\/strong> from its fleet, some 12 years after the carrier took delivery of its first superjumbo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline&#8217;s half-year financial report released this week confirmed that the last two A380s have left the carrier&#8217;s fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/08\/embraer-e195-e2-granted-type-certification-in-china.html\">Embraer E195-E2 Granted Type Certification in China<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At its peak, the airline had five A380s, operating on domestic services along with routes to Los Angeles, Sydney and Amsterdam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The news comes as Lufthansa this week confirmed plans to reactivate two more of its Airbus A380s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Etihad returned the first of its four A380s to service in July, and last month Qantas announced plans
