major hubs, Marco Zenger, CEO of the new carrier, said Tuesday in an internal memo to employees seen by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/lufthansa-launch\/lufthansa-on-track-for-launch-of-regional-city-airlines-memo-idUSL8N3AO54A\">Reuters<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The basic framework of <strong>City Airlines<\/strong>, founded last year, has had an operating license since June, Zenger stated in the document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/07\/lufthansa-group-invests-in-new-technology-to-transmit-flight-information-in-real-time.html\">Lufthansa Group invests in new technology to transmit flight information in real time<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe remain on track and on the path towards the operative start of City Airlines,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Staff recruitment is planned for the end of the year, and Lufthansa is already in talks or pursuing talks with unions representing various groups in the air travel sector, according to the memo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With the new airline, Lufthansa is looking to reduce the cost of its existing feeder flight services connecting long-haul services from its Munich and Frankfurt hubs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The memo said that Lufthansa wants to
