Mariscal Sucre International Airport<\/strong> in Quito (Ecuador) became on Thursday the first in the Americas and the second in the world to receive the highest passenger experience accreditation granted by the Airports Council International (ACI).<\/p>\n

At a press conference held at the airport terminal, the authorities of Mariscal Sucre and Quito celebrated the achievement of a distinction that until now only Incheon Airport in South Korea had received.<\/p>\n

The ACI, the main global organization that promotes airport excellence, awards level 5 passenger experience accreditation to airports that meet high standards in their operations and services, as explained in a press release by Quiport, the concessionaire company that manages Mariscal Sucre.<\/p>\n

These airports must also undergo a comprehensive review and training process that promotes the development of their employees.<\/p>\n

According to ACI’s criteria, this is currently the only accreditation that provides a global vision of the entire airport management in terms of customer experience and service.<\/p>\n

Quiport’s president and CEO, Ram\u00f3n Mir\u00f3, indicated that “achieving level 5 has been a process of a few years of constant work since Quiport decided to participate in the program following its creation in 2018.”<\/p>\n

“We then drew up a clear roadmap that allowed us to understand our starting point and plan management by identifying the critical points that make the passenger experience more positive,” commented Mir\u00f3.<\/p>\n

Weeks ago, Quito Airport was awarded for the seventh time at the World Travel Awards as the leading airport in South America.<\/p>\n
