The models under consideration are the Embraer E195-E2 and the Airbus A220, said Carsten Spohr, CEO of the group.<\/p>\n<p>The information was revealed through a video addressed to employees, to which Aero Telegraph had access.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/10\/lufthansa-will-be-the-first-to-equip-its-a320s-with-airbus-new-l-bins.html\">Lufthansa will be the first to equip its A320s with Airbus\u2019 new L Bins<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are preparing a large order for 80 aircraft, 40 of them 120- to 140-seat aircraft that will go to City Airlines,&#8221; Spohr said.<\/p>\n<p>City Airlines, which has already obtained an Air Operator Certificate (AOC), is scheduled to begin operations in 2024 with Airbus A319 aircraft currently operated within the group.<\/p>\n<p>The plan is for City to operate connecting flights to the Frankfurt and Munich hubs from destinations within Germany and countries in the region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Lufthansa Group plans to order 40 aircraft for its new subsidiary, City Airlines.
