Philippine low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific<\/strong> wants to order 100 to 150 aircraft from Boeing or Airbus worth up to $12 billion, its president Alexander Lao said Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Lao was responding to a question from Reuters<\/a> following a report in Tuesday’s Inquirer newspaper that the airline will seek the best offer from Boeing or Airbus in what is likely to be a winner-take-all deal.<\/p>\n

The company will solicit proposals from the two airline manufacturers later this week, according to Inquirer, which quotes CEO Mike Szucs. Cebu<\/p>\n

Cebu Pacific is the Philippines’ largest low-cost carrier, with a current fleet of 78 Airbus.<\/p>\n

The airline is preparing a long-term fleet expansion to take advantage of post-pandemic travel demand.
