Aena’s network airports in Spain closed the tenth month of 2023 with an all-time record number of passengers in an October: 26,616,109, 11% more than in the same month of 2022 and 7.8% more than in 2019.<\/p>\n

In October 2023, Aena managed 219,482 aircraft movements, 5.1% more than in 2022; and 101,246 tons of cargo were moved, 11.9% more than last year.<\/p>\n

Of the total number of travelers in October, 26,543,953 were commercial passengers: 18,350,305 traveled on international flights, 13.1% more than in October 2022, while 8,193,648 traveled on domestic flights, 6.5% more than last year.<\/p>\n

From January to October 2023, 243,263,873 passengers passed through Aena’s airports (16.9% and 1.9% more than in 2022 and 2019, respectively), 2,053,583 aircraft movements were recorded (+8.3% compared to 2022) and 877,574 tons of cargo were transported, 6.3% more than in the same period of 2022.<\/p>\n

Passengers<\/h3>\n

Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in the tenth month of the year with 5,384,937, representing a 12% growth compared to October last year.<\/p>\n

It was followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 4,587,103 (+9.4% compared to 2022); Palma de Mallorca, with 3,286,052 (+7.3%); M\u00e1laga-Costa del Sol, with 2,215,936 (+17.1%); Alicante-Elche Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, with 1,586,073 (+17%); Gran Canaria, with 1,223,397 (+7.7%) and Tenerife Sur, with 1,058,521 (+9.7%).<\/p>\n

Operations<\/h3>\n

In terms of operations, the airport with the most movements in October was Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas, with a total of 34,551 (+8.2% compared to 2022), followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 29. 068 flights (+6.2%); Palma de Mallorca, with 24,222 (+2.7%); M\u00e1laga-Costa del Sol, with 15,585 (+10.5%); Gran Canaria, with 11,393 (+6.9%) and Alicante-Elche Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, with 9,939 landings and takeoffs (+9.9%).<\/p>\n

Cargo<\/h3>\n

Regarding cargo traffic, the airport with the highest cargo volume was Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas, with 60,471 tons, up 16.7% compared to the same month of 2022.
