{"id":145518,"date":"2023-11-14T13:30:07","date_gmt":"2023-11-14T13:30:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=145518"},"modified":"2023-11-15T11:48:30","modified_gmt":"2023-11-15T11:48:30","slug":"rolls-royce-defends-a350-1000-engine-from-emirates-criticism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2023\/11\/rolls-royce-defends-a350-1000-engine-from-emirates-criticism.html","title":{"rendered":"Rolls-Royce defends A350-1000 engine from Emirates criticism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Britain\u2019s <strong>Rolls-Royce<\/strong> said on Tuesday it was taking steps to improve the durability of its Trent XWB-97 jet engines but denied a suggestion from one of the industry\u2019s most influential leaders that the Airbus A350-1000 engine was defective.<\/p>\n<p>Chief Customer Officer Ewen McDonald acknowledged that the company\u2019s largest engine faced challenges in climates like Dubai, where Emirates has held off ordering the A350-1000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe engine works really well in what we call benign operations &#8230; But in sandy, hot conditions it is challenged, as all modern engines are, because the temperatures are very high.
