{"id":146133,"date":"2023-12-08T14:28:52","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T14:28:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=146133"},"modified":"2023-12-09T14:29:28","modified_gmt":"2023-12-09T14:29:28","slug":"cathay-pacific-confirms-order-for-six-airbus-a350f-jets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2023\/12\/cathay-pacific-confirms-order-for-six-airbus-a350f-jets.html","title":{"rendered":"Cathay Pacific confirms order for six Airbus A350F jets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cathay Pacific<\/strong> announced Friday that it has signed a purchase agreement for six <strong>Airbus A350F<\/strong> jets, which will replace its aging Boeing 747F aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Currently under development, the A350F can carry a payload of up to 111 tonnes and can fly up to 4,700 nautical miles \/ 8,700 kilometres at significantly lower cost than any other freighter available today.<\/p>\n<p>Powered by latest technology Rolls-Royce Trent-XWB97 engines, the aircraft will bring a reduction in fuel consumption and carbon emissions of up to 40% when compared with the older 747F and is at least 20% more efficient than its competitor.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/11\/airbus-developed-a-system-to-prevent-depressurisation-accidents.html\">Airbus developed a system to prevent depressurisation accidents<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Cathay Cargo, which has six 747-400F and 14 747-8F aircraft, expects the six A350s to be delivered from 2027 to the end of 2029.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese highly fuel-efficient, next-generation freighters will provide important additional cargo capacity, expand our global network and contribute to our sustainability leadership goals\u201d,<br \/>\nCathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam said.<\/p>\n<p>Cathay is already one of the largest operators of the A350, with a current fleet of 47 aircraft.
