{"id":146187,"date":"2023-12-11T13:30:31","date_gmt":"2023-12-11T13:30:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/?p=146187"},"modified":"2023-12-11T22:02:53","modified_gmt":"2023-12-11T22:02:53","slug":"iag-notifies-european-commission-of-the-acquisition-of-air-europa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aviacionaldia.com\/en\/2023\/12\/iag-notifies-european-commission-of-the-acquisition-of-air-europa.html","title":{"rendered":"IAG notifies European Commission of the acquisition of Air Europa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <strong>IAG group<\/strong>, parent company of British Airways, Iberia, Vueling, Aer Lingus and LEVEL, notified the European Commission on Monday of the purchase of the remaining 80% of <strong>Air Europa&#8217;s<\/strong> capital, a transaction valued at 400 million euros that both companies agreed in February of this year.<\/p>\n<p>After this step, the Community Executive has 25 working days to evaluate the operation, in accordance with the first phase of merger control provided for in Community regulations.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/11\/iag-plans-to-invest-13-5-billion-euros-in-fleet-operations-and-customer-services.html\">IAG plans to invest 13.5 billion euros in fleet, operations and customer services<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Brussels could approve the acquisition after this stage or, alternatively, open an in-depth investigation if it maintains doubts about the effects of the transaction, which would last for 90 working days and can be extended if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Today we have notified the European Commission of our proposal to purchase Air Europa,&#8221;
