This aircraft will join the four A321LRs announced in an earlier agreement between the two companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Recall that in July 2023, the airline signed a contract with Airbus for up to 25 A321XLR aircraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both models will be the future replacements for Icelandair&#8217;s Boeing 757 fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2023\/11\/icelandair-to-expand-network-with-new-destinations-and-increased-frequencies-by-2024.html\">Icelandair to expand network with new destinations and increased frequencies by 2024<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deliveries of the A321LRs will begin in 2024 and the A321XLRs are scheduled for delivery in 2029.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are pleased to announce the lease of one more aircraft to our partner SMBC Aviation Limited.
