Frankfurt Airport<\/strong> has temporarily halted its activity due to heavy snowfall in Germany, which has also led to the cancellation of trains and problems in road travel as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airport, the largest in the country and the fourth largest in Europe by number of travelers, has decided to cancel all departures and arrivals due to the adverse weather, as can be seen on its website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Due to weather conditions, there are flight disruptions today and a large number of cancellations. Disruptions for this reason are also expected for tomorrow, Thursday,” Fraport, the airport operator, reported on the social network X (formerly Twitter).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before the stoppage of activity at Frankfurt airport, more than 600 flights had already been cancelled, of the 1,030 scheduled for Wednesday, airport operator Fraport confirmed to EFE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich airport is operating normally after around thirty flights were cancelled during the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Frankfurt and Munich airports and the country’s largest airline, Lufthansa, have asked users to check the status of their flights before going to the airfields and not to go if they are listed as cancelled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They have also reminded that flight limitations will remain in place for tomorrow, Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
