The manufacturer Comac (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China)<\/strong> is participating this week in the Singapore Airshow, where it is exhibiting for the first time outside China its C919<\/strong> passenger aircraft, a rival to the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C919, which began flying last year with China’s China Eastern Airlines, made a display flight on Sunday ahead of Tuesday’s opening of the Singapore Airshow, which will host various flying displays open to the public until next Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a statement, the organizers of this event indicated that the world’s leading aviation companies will participate, including Airbus (Europe), BAE Systems (UK), Boeing (USA), Bombardier (Canada), Comac (China), Indra (Spain), Lockheed Martin (USA), Rolls-Royce (UK) and Thales (France), among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The C919, which can accommodate between 158 and 192 seats and a flight range of between 4,075 and 5,555 kilometers, is one of the main presentations at the event, where China’s COMAC will rival the companies that dominate the passenger aviation market, Airbus and Boeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COMAC delivered its first C919 to China Eastern Airlines in December 2020 and made its first commercial flight in May last year covering the route between Shanghai and Beijing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chinese manufacturer will also present at the Singapore Airshow another smaller model, the ARJ21 (between 78 and 90 seats), used for regional flights in China and Indonesia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Singapore Airshow will also feature the Airbus A350-1000 and the U.S. B-52 Stratofortress military aircraft, as well as aircraft from the Australian, Indonesian and South Korean air forces, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
