Wingo<\/strong> reported Friday that it projects a 16% increase in passengers in 2024, to reach more than 3.4 million travelers. The highest figure since its founding in 2016 as a low-cost airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We closed the first month of 2024 with a very good demand performance, with growth exceeding 30% compared to January 2023. This good passenger response to the Wingo product during this first month of 2024 has led us to be optimistic about the company’s operational performance for the annualized fiscal year. We are already the third largest player in the domestic airline market and our goal for 2024 is to win the preference of an increasing number of travelers,” said Eduardo Lombana, CEO of Wingo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

More Seats<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Wingo will provide more seats in both the domestic and international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the domestic market, it will focus its efforts on offering a greater number of frequencies on routes it already operates, but where it identifies a considerable increase in demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This includes the main domestic routes from El Dorado such as Bogot\u00e1 – Medell\u00edn, Bogot\u00e1 – Cali, Bogot\u00e1 – Barranquilla, Bogot\u00e1 – Cartagena and Bogot\u00e1 – Santa Marta; as well as the beach routes originating from Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda C\u00f3rdova: Medell\u00edn – Cartagena and Medell\u00edn – Santa Marta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 ConnectMiles members will be able to redeem their miles on the Wingo route network<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the international market, the airline will concentrate its capacity efforts on starting new routes to Venezuela, with the objective of connecting Caracas with more cities in Colombia, as well as other cities in the neighboring country with Bogota. On the other hand, it also plans to implement new routes to destinations in the Caribbean and Central America, from different airports in Colombia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“On the domestic front, we will focus on strengthening the product with a greater number of frequencies on routes already operated. As for the international market, we are analyzing a range of new routes from different airports such as El Dorado, Jos\u00e9 Mar\u00eda C\u00f3rdova and Ernesto Cortissoz to new and already operated destinations in Latin America. Our expansion efforts this year have already begun with the launching of the Medell\u00edn – Caracas route last January,” said Lombana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, with this growth projection for 2024, Wingo consolidates its position as the low-cost airline with the most robust operation in the Colombian market, with 37 routes connecting 23 destinations in 11 Latin American countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
