Wingo <\/strong>is preparing for its Easter Week operation, one of the busiest periods of the year in the Colombian air market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the major week of 2024, which formally begins on Friday, March 22 and runs through Sunday, March 31, the airline plans to offer more than 110,000 seats on 600 flights distributed throughout its route network, which already reaches 37 routes in 23 destinations in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This capacity represents a 17% growth in the Wingo operation, compared to the same period of time in 2023. The airline expects to transport 103 thousand passengers during these 10 days of the holiday season, with which it expects to achieve an occupancy factor of over 93% on average throughout its route network. This number of passengers represents a 40% increase compared to the number of passengers transported during Easter Week in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Wingo increases checked baggage weight and renews its fare family<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“At Wingo, we are ready for one of the periods with the highest demand from travelers. This Easter, we are going to increase our capacity by 17%, compared to the operational metrics of 2023. We expect to mobilize more than 100,000 passengers on 600 flights, reflecting the relevant contribution of the low-cost model in the airline industry for this holiday season,” said Jorge Jim\u00e9nez, Wingo’s Vice President of Commercial and Planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sun and beach, leading in traveler demand<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A review of the dynamics of the route network shows the preference of travelers for beach destinations. As for the domestic network, the most popular Wingo destinations are Cartagena, Santa Marta and San Andres. The routes connecting Bogota with Medellin, Barranquilla, Cali and Armenia also stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regarding the international network, the increase in demand for Caribbean destinations stands out, where Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Aruba and Cancun are the most desired Wingo destinations by travelers. Also noteworthy is the performance of routes to Lima, Peru and San Jos\u00e9, Costa Rica, destinations that are gaining more and more preference among Colombian travelers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
