In February 2024, Aena <\/strong>welcomed 19,226,616 passengers, 15.7% more than in the same month of 2023; handled 167,238 aircraft movements, 8.4% more than in 2023; and moved 95,490 tons of cargo, 18.6% more than last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the total number of travelers in February, 19,145,647 were commercial passengers: 12,449,872 traveled on international flights, 18.1% more than in February 2023, while 6,695,775 traveled on domestic flights, 11.5% more than last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the first two months of 2024, 37,893,828 passengers passed through Aena’s airports (12.9% more than in 2023), 333,147 aircraft movements were recorded (+7.2%) and 187,242 tons of cargo were transported, 20.8% more than in the same period of 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Passengers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas Airport recorded the highest number of passengers in the second month of the year with 4,713,881, representing a growth of 12.9% compared to February last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 3,651,911 (+16.6% compared to 2023); M\u00e1laga-Costa del Sol, with 1,423,329 (+26.7%); Gran Canaria, with 1,322,916 (+13.8%); Tenerife Sur, with 1,218,089 (+15.4%); Palma de Mallorca, with 1,035,243 (+14.3%) and Alicante-Elche Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, with 1,002,310 (+26.8%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Aena expects to exceed 300 million passengers by 2025<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, in the Aena network as a whole, during the month of February passenger records were broken at the following airports: Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Alicante-Elche Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, M\u00e1laga-Costa del Sol, Seville, Valencia, Tenerife Norte-Ciudad de La Laguna, Tenerife Sur, C\u00e9sar Manrique-Lanzarote, Asturias, Bilbao, Ibiza, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Melilla, Santiago-Rosal\u00eda de Castro, Menorca, Badajoz, La Palma and La Gomera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operations<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In terms of operations, the airport with the most movements in February was Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas, with a total of 30,937 (+10.9% compared to 2023), followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 23. 587 flights (+13.6%); Gran Canaria, with 11,606 (+12.7%); M\u00e1laga-Costa del Sol, with 10,122 (+18.1%); Palma de Mallorca, with 9,060 (+8.3%); Tenerife Sur, with 7,779 (+10.3%) and Alicante-Elche Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, with 6,371 landings and takeoffs (+21.1%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second month of 2024, record movements were achieved at the airports of Alicante-Elche Miguel Hern\u00e1ndez, M\u00e1laga-Costa del Sol, Gran Canaria, Tenerife Norte Ciudad de La Laguna, Tenerife Sur, C\u00e9sar Manrique-Lanzarote, La Gomera, La Palma, El Hierro and Burgos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cargo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Regarding cargo traffic, the airport with the highest cargo volume was Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas, with 57,271 tons, up 20% compared to the same month in 2023. It was followed by Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, with 14,704 tons (+22.5%); Zaragoza, with 11,317 tons (+23%); and Vitoria, with 6,050 tons (+5.9%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, last February saw a record number of freight movements in a single month in the Aena network as a whole, specifically at the Adolfo Su\u00e1rez Madrid-Barajas, Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat and Vitoria airports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
