one of the engines while on a flight Monday night between the cities of Melbourne and Perth, the Australian airline confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flight QF781 &#8220;experienced a problem with one of its engines last night as it approached Perth,&#8221; an airline spokeswoman said in a statement sent to EFE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u2192 <a href=\"https:\/en\/2024\/03\/qantaslink-makes-its-first-flights-with-the-airbus-a220.html\">QantasLink makes its first flights with the Airbus A220<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, the pilots, following established procedures for this type of incident, &#8220;manually shut down the engine and requested a priority landing&#8221; in Perth, southwest Australia, where the aircraft landed safely and passengers disembarked normally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Qantas spokeswoman also insisted that the airline&#8217;s aircraft are designed &#8220;to operate safely with a single engine.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the incident caused concern among passengers who heard a &#8220;big bang&#8221; and a tremor on the left side of the plane, Australian Darrell Weekes, who was on
