Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas<\/strong> announced this Friday that it will stop operating the route between Buenos Aires and New York as of August 10, in the midst of an adjustment plan that already included the elimination of flights to Havana, Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This plan seeks to prioritize those routes that are most profitable and increase fleet productivity, allowing an increase to two daily flights to Miami and Madrid, and will increase flights to the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2192 Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas transported more than 2,400,000 passengers in first two months of the year<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas said that during February and March of this year alone, the Buenos Aires-New York route showed losses of US$ 250,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The decision reflects the consolidation of a policy of permanent evaluation of route profitability in the face of an extremely volatile aviation market,” the airline said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The elimination of the route does not mean that the flight will no longer be sold. It will be available through Aerol\u00edneas Argentinas’ codeshare flights with Delta Air Lines, the company added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
